Reflections - Now Available

Reflections is an album of solo piano music that explores introspection. It’s relaxing and meditative, and was a fun and rewarding experience to write and produce. Pianists Felix Arfin and David Russell perform beautifully and breathe so much life into the music, and I couldn’t be happier. If you’d like to listen, it is available on all streaming sites and on my youtube channel (which is now officially launched!).

The music itself is structured as self-contained stories. The album has a kind of story it wants to tell, but more through impressions and moods than through plot. The pieces are short, the longest is around 2.5 minutes. I didn’t want to venture into big classical structures and tricky academic compositions or super virtuoso piano playing. I wanted it to be simple, accessible, and something you can listen to and feel without needing to dig into the sheet music or take a bunch of theory courses. And, frankly, asking for a listener’s time and attention really is asking for a lot, so the music doesn’t ask much but hopefully it can give you some calm or some space to think about things.
